Woah we're half way there..

Woah, Sebastien Haller!

Score a goal ( not in out net though) and we'll make it I swear.

Woah, Sebastien Haller!!

Assisted in both our goals as well. Played well. Big , strong and good skills. Looks an excellent buy.

Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
Anderson will be fine.

Last season, we was relying on him to make and score his own chances.

Now he has players on a similar wavelength, it should only improve . He'll have more chances created for him and have more options to create for others - win, win situation.

We do have to balance up the creativity with a bit of backbone, though.

But fucking hell, we should be in for a treat from an attacking point of view.

How did HALLER play, aside from his OG?

The point I made was that he created the same amount of chances as Eriksen, Willian and Bernado Silva, who are at bigger clubs that qualified for the CL.

Anderson scored more than all three of those too.

Exactly what basis are you judging him not living up to standards, if it isn’t statistical?

Most of our players could do better though, don't you think?

Can only think of Fab and Rice who you wouldn't say that about last season.

So yes of course he could do better but doesn't make him droppable because there's no one to drop him for who has had as much end product.

'So yes he could do better''

Glad you agree,as that is all I have ever said. Playing a lot of the game is second gear is hardly a great trait for a supposed top player, is it?
Let's hope he steps it up this season.

Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
Reminds me of Kanoute. A very effective player that some people don’t like because he SEEMS lazy or a daydreamer. People keep saying that Anderson won’t track back and yet he was the team’s highest tackler last year?

There seems to be a big difference between people’s impressions and the reality.

Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
His transfer fee is irrelevant, second highest assists, second highest goals, most tackles.

Can't really leave him out as would lose all of those.

Norf is also correct though he does play a lot of the game in second gear, but I suppose you get the 20 minutes when he's sublime, which is why we have him because if he played like that all game every week he'd be a 100 million pound player and at a different club.

So yes he could do better, but what he does do still produced more goals than any other player in our team.

My opinion is that you're a cunt.

All about opinions innit. He's a 43 mil quid player, I think he can do better, you think he should be praised. Fine.

Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
Opposition were able to mark him out of the game as we had no other big threats as Arnie was moody and Chica was lightweight...

This year they can't do that as we have Fornals, Lanzini, Yarma, Haller etc all with Wilshire and Noble pulling the strings... Antonio off the bench for 20-25 minutes a game when the opposition is tired is going to be an absolute machine!

What he achieved last year should be praised

Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
Pagey - he was joint 16th for chances, very impressive :-) I'm confident that Pell would agree with me that Anderson can and needs to do a lot more. That's 8 times now.

That’s the 7th time that someone’s said that this week,

Why is the modern day fan obsessed with stats?? 'Joint 16th for chances' Whoopee fucking doo, the fella cost 43 million. He can and has to be better this season.

He’s an unbelievable talent but I find him incredibly frustrating imo he plays about 75mins of each game in 2nd gear....when he goes through the gears going forward or defensively he looks good enough to play for anyone. But you only needed to see the city v bin dippers yesterday and watch how hard they work to see why he’s playing for us and not them because IMO he’s not much different on ability

Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
Anderson was really getting stuck in with tackles on the right wing yesterday in front of Fredericks, seemed a bit slow to release ball to him on attack, although Fredricks seemed to be unsure bombing forward at the start. Often needed Wilshere there to pass around their midfield.
Thought Wilshere was tackling a lot too...we seemed to be set up to harrass them once they stepped over the halfway line, enjpyed this a lot. Not sure they'd last a full game doing it...maybe this is what the slow starts are for? 😂

Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
He also had the most tackles.

Anderson is a cracking player in my opinion. Often, he was isolated and lost the ball yet I heard people moaning at him. With quality across the front 4/5, he should be an even bigger threat this year.

Jaan Kenbrovin 7:29 Sun Aug 4
Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
Anderson was joint 16th for chances created in the PL last season alongside Willian, Eriksen and Bernardo Silva.

Was our second highest scorer and second for most assists....

...but yeah, make or break season and he obviously needs dropping for a bloke that was injured for 8 months and not had many minutes in pre season.

Manuel 5:30 Sun Aug 4
Re: West Ham United Vs Athletic Club
For me this is a make or break season for Anderson, he will either really kick on or just go through the motions. I know he nicked a few goals last season but fancy tricks on the halfway line just aint gonna cut the mustard now. He needs to get a lot more productive in the last third for a 40 odd mil player.
